Non attendance for appointments is a growing problem at Mungret Medical Centre, and this is born out in the attendance patterns in recent months and years. Unfortunately this issue is forced upon us as there is high demand for appointments.
In order to provide more attended appointments to our patients, and also more availability to our patients as a whole, a non-attendance fee will be applicable from the 1st of July 2026.
This fee is applicable for GP, nurse, and similar appointments which are; cancelled at less than one day’s working notice / rescheduled at less than one day’s working notice / not attended and/or attended too late / patients who leave without being seen.
Please note this is not applicable for prepaid fees.
Please only arrive up to five minutes before your appointment time. Also please take note of our opening hours. It may not be possible to facilitate late arrivals.
Please ensure to wear a face mask if you have any respiratory symptoms (cough / sinus congestion / flu / head cold / similar). Please wear face masks in the waiting room and in consultation even with a non-detected antigen. We appreciate your understanding in protecting other patients and staff.
If you have a positive covid test please do not physically attend MMC and instead call for advice on next steps.
Please ensure to have done a recent antigen before attending MMC if you have any respiratory symptoms. Children aged under four should not get an antigen test. HSE advice is that face coverings are not recommended for children under the age of 13, but some children may choose to wear one.
If you have been sent any forms to be completed before your appointment please ensure to complete these at least one working day before your appointment.
This allows for processing of same before your arrival and minimises any delays for yourself for your appointment.
Self check-in is available, but is entirely optional. You may find it easier and quicker to check in via the kiosk, particularly during busy periods. Or you can check in via reception as usual.
If coming for vaccine(s), blood(s), venesection, ambulatory blood pressure monitor, ECG, or chronic disease management, or similar.
Please ensure that you are wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing, with easy access for procedures and devices if attending for any of the above.
Please bring a urine sample to your appointment if you are coming for the following;
Suitable containers can be collected from reception at MMC or sourced at pharmacies. The above list is non-exhaustive and you may have received other additional advice which you should follow.
